Scott Stone, CPA, MPA — Founder & Managing Member
Scott is a seasoned C-suite executive with nearly two decades of leadership experience as a Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. A Certified Public Accountant, he brings rare breadth and depth to every engagement — having advised Fortune 50 corporations, private equity-backed enterprises, lower middle market companies, and family-owned businesses across technology, healthcare, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
His transaction experience spans the full deal lifecycle, including mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, private equity recapitalizations, debt and equity raises, and exit planning — having guided business owners and leadership teams through some of the most consequential decisions of their professional lives.
As the architect of the CFO+ methodology, Scott goes well beyond the traditional finance role — integrating strategy, operations, talent, and organizational development to deliver sustainable competitive advantage for his clients.
Operating Experience
Scott's operating experience is equally compelling. As Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for AMR, a clinical research site company, he led a complex roll-up of 10 businesses that culminated in a successful majority recapitalization in 2021, bringing on a private equity sponsor to accelerate future growth. He oversaw Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Contracting, and Investor Relations — a true CFO+ scope.
His earlier work as a Principal with Butler Snow Advisory included numerous embedded CFO engagements where the CFO+ approach was refined and proven. The Sightline Organizational Health Model — now in its 2026 update — was developed and proven during this period.

Teaching & Community
A passionate advocate for entrepreneurship, Scott serves as an Adjunct Professor in the UAB School of Entrepreneurship, teaching Entrepreneurial Finance and Accounting. He has mentored emerging companies through Alabama Launchpad and the Entrepreneur Accelerator Program, working with many of Birmingham's most promising startups.
Scott is active in his community, having served as Chairman of the Greystone Foundation and on the boards of Redemptive Cycles, KidOne Transport, the Alabama Environmental Council, and the Bryant Jordan Scholarship Foundation.
